So I've been following F'it_ImFromTx's guide on carpet removal

but I'm stuck on this metal column and his guide mentioned nothing about it.



It won't budge and I can't slide out the carpet without removing it. I did an exhaustive google and forum search to no luck. I'd really rather not have to cut the carpet.

Yeah this isn't going to happen. I looked a little deeper and found something else in the way.

 

Driver side carpet pins. Kinda tricky to open but a butterknife worked for me.

what are you up to? Soundproofing?
