Stay with 2010 LX or trade up to 2013 Sport
That's my dilemma - having bought a 2010 Fit in Feb 2011, that I wasn't even sure I would like, I have now put 90,000 km on it and love it enough to consider another one. However it's coming up to being out of warranty at 100,000 km mark, so my local dealer has one 2013 Fit Sport left (but there are others around - so I'm not in a total panic), but the issue of trading has come up. Aside from the obvious niceness of having everything brand new again. I am struggling with trading a Japan made so far worry free model for a Chinese made one. I know I have to make the final decision - but wonder what you would do? Trade they are offering me is $8000 and another $2000 off the 2013 as a last year's model. Other option might be to look at a 2013 LX - but would have to come from another dealer - is the sport worth the extra $. Selling private could also be an option - but I'm not sure I'm up for the challenge. Any thoughts?
Is yours a manual? If so, wait for the newer model and get the improved engine and mission. Though I'm still on the ropes about its looks, I do generally prefer my GE8 over the newer GK and I don't think that will ever really change.
Something to take into consideration if you want to trade up your LX is that it is made in Japan while all 2012s and higher in Canada are built in china.
The next gen fit will be made in Mexico for us.

So do you think it would be better to stay with the aging Japanese model? I think if it was a newer Japanese model I probably wouldn't be questioning so much. Are the 2012's and 13's having lots of issues - besides some rusting?
Rusting is a big issue in Canada. My 2007 is starting to show little signs of rust here and there but nothing major. China doesn't treat steel well and that's why the Chinese Fits are rusting in under a year. I'd keep the Jap Fit, you can always use the fact it's made in japan to swoon buyers if you sell it down the road.
I'd look long and hard at a 2015 and also consider a private sale. Put the car for sale at a ridiculously high price, who knows, someone might bite. If not just keep it.

As always - thanks for the input - I have decided to keep my 2010 for now, the dealer did offer to sweeten the deal - but as I was telling them what a great deal they would be getting - I decided it made sense to stay put.
I'd vote to wait and probably get the new 2015 model as well, which should be out in a few months here in the US (not sure about Canada). It looks to have some nice new features like more power, better gas mileage, and a nicer interior.

I was glad to read you stayed with your Fit. 100K miles isn't that much on these cars. Somewhere on these forums someone posted that they had 500K miles on theirs, but they didn't live in a place where rust would be much of an issue. And yeah, when you're thinking of the great deal the dealership will get with your trade in, I would imagine that's the time when you would want to keep it. I wouldn't judge you if you just wanted the feel of a new car, though, it IS nice.
Japan vs China - I think that's a no brainer.
