Hey guys,

A friend of mine has a 2009 Fit that is throwing a P2135 code. Apparently, along with this code, there are some drivability issues.

I am supposed to go look at the car this week. Does anyone have any experience with this code, or could share any troubleshooting instructions from the repair manual?

The drive-ability issue is probably just limp mode.

Googling "P2135 honda" comes up with throttle position sensor issue. One in particular might help... p2135 code yesterday - Honda Accord Forum : V6 Performance Accord Forums

 

Thanks. I took a look at that thread, and again at the parts catalog. From what I can see so far, this generation Fit does not have any separately available sensors.

So if there is a sensor issue, assuming that the wiring is OK, I think it means that the car needs a new throttle body.

I guess my next steps would be to confirm the wiring condition and possibly replace the throttle body. It looks like new ones are $500 and used ones are under $100.

 

My point of that link was someone claimed the issue was the "accelerator pedal position" (app) sensor. The throttle pedal, as opposed to the throttle body.

However, just like in the TB, the APP sensor is part of the accelerator pedal assembly. It's $160 from Bernardi... however it may or may not be a solution.

 

I just got this code today. My car was idling at ~1500 RPM and wouldn't rev above 2k.

I turned my car off,then turn started it 5mins later and it was idling and revibg regularly again.

Also wondering. A shop ordered a position sensor that I don't think fits the car -- from a visual inspection it seems like the TPS is integrated with the throttle body, as described above. This is the part they ordered for me.
If I figure it out either way I will update. 2010 base model.
