2011 w\ 98k and NO service records
Should I buy? 2011 w\ 98k and NO service records
I can get a good price on it since I know the dealer, but such high mileage with no records tells me to stay away. Is there anything I should have inspected that could give me peace of mind? Or should I keep looking?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Most used cars come with no records. A dealer has generally gone through the car and isn't ashamed to have it out front with their name on it.
If the dealer knows you and isn't too embarrassed to sell you the car, it's probably in good shape for its mileage.

My car has 85k miles on it with no service records and has probably been maintained better than most Fits on the road.
No records doesn't really mean stay away, just take a little extra time looking it over. Check dipstick for caked on oil stains, listen for strange noises in the transmission (whining or jerky shifts) when test driving, look at the brake fluid and see if it's clearish, not black, stuff like that. The only services that should have been performed are oil changes, trans oil changes and brake fluid at that mileage.

100K and it's due for some maintenance: valve adjustment and spark plugs.
I'd negotiate this as part of the deal. Don't believe them if they say it's been done; get it in writing.
It's about $400 otherwise. Not terribly expensive but not something you want to shell out for having just bought it. Transmission service too.

+1 to the other comments.
Also - does the carfax show any service history? Often times services from dealers and larger service centers will appear on the carfax.
Even without service records, that many miles in that short of time indicates highway miles which are easier on a car than stop-and-go city miles.

Many Honda dealers will make the service current if it is within a certain mileage of the next service. The dealer I used to work for did it if it was within 2k miles. Most do regular service(oil change, Air Filter etc) before it hits the lot.
