New owner 2013 fit
I've always had a thing for the Fit, 1st and 2nd gen and I'm now a proud owner of a t. white sport auto. Thus far I had the front bumber cover, headlights, entire hood, rearview mirrors, entire front fenders, door edges, and top of rear bumber cover 3M clear bra wrapped. I keep my cars mint and clean and can't stand chips. I've installed black husky floor liners, have my progress rear sway bar on its way, and tomorrow am having the car tinted 35 all the way around (keep the police off my tail) along with 6 inches of the front windshield given the Fit has piss poor sun visors.
I will post pics tomorrow of the car and my invoice bc I think I got a pretty good deal given I didn't qualify for any of the $500 incentives. 17k plus a $199 doc fee and of course ttl. I intentionally grabbed this baby over waiting for a 15 for four reasons. 1) JDM. 2) Looks. 3) 5a as opposed to cvt. 4) 17k.
I will post pics tomorrow after the tint job and will share my experiences, both positive and negative over the course of my ownership.
Lastly, all the data ive got thus far. I'm a tank topper. Unfortunately I have destroyed several $300 carbon filters by tank topping over the years but it's my addiction and the numbers I post are real world mpg. Tank 1 yielded 32.94 mpg in cold weather but I was very easy on the gas. I am by no means a hyper miler and I usually drive 5 over. Tank 2 included a lot of stop and go and took place in the mild sleet/snow storm we got just a few days ago. Unfortuntely the fit returned just 28 mpg. I'm on tank 3 and have been driving easy and mostly highway and hit 216 on a 1/2 tank. I'm expecting to exceed 33 mpg.
Btw, thanks for all the info which ultimately put me back behind the wheel of a Honda.
Here's a pic of the Fit and her big brother. Now you know why I mention fuel mileage. I was anxious but better will come tomorrow.

Something I made up. Somebody who tops off their gas tank.
Btw, the 6k in trade was insane.... That was far my stock near mint to mint 2006 scion xb that just turned 100k. It was due a tranny flush, coolant flush, oil change, and needed door locks replaced. Tires were at 50% so I consider this closer to $6500 trade value or the equivalent of selling it for 7100 straight up considering tax savings. Much better than blue book. The dealer is asking $11,900 for it bc it's damn near showroom new.
That's the benefit of taking care of your ride!
Think about it... 6k for a stock 100k scion xb Gen 1....insane resale value.
On top of that, 17k for a fit along with the 6k trade. It's been 5 days and I'm still stoked.

Congrats on the new Fit. Don't worry too much about the MPG you're getting right now. It will get a little better as it breaks in. Also, the cold air with the winter we're having seems to drop the MPG by about 2-3 when it's below about 45F outside. That's been my experience anyway.

The xb was the rs 3.0 which included dual dvd monitors with head phones and upgraded stereo system with bluetooth and satellite radio standard which I dearly miss. the fit has better sound quality and I love that I can turn the radio all the way up with no distortion. It's a shame that other manufacturers havent figured out how to tune their audio systems.
The fit is all stock minus the progress rear sway bar and the the xb had the trd suspension and rear sway bar. Your going to kill me here, but the xb handled considerably better when pushed, felt much lighter, nimble and was much more fun to drive around town. I'd put my money on the xb's braking too.
The fit has much more power and I love it's throttle tip in. I don't drive it hard but i have to carefully modulate the throttle from a dead stop to keep the car from jerking forward and I really like it. The xb was a dog and it really wore on me over the years. The fits transmission (5A) is night and day more rewarding to drive than the 4A slush box in the xb. I love how you hear what is similar to a blip to go along with the suprisingly pleasant exhaust note of the fit. The xb wheezed and shifted soft and slow.
I was a little dissaspointed to find that the fit is about 6 inches longer than the xb and I almost took the rear bumper cover off with the garage door so the xb was easier to park but the fit has a slightly better turning radius.
The fit consistently averages 3mpg+ more than the xb at 33 avg vs 29.5-ish.
Love the fits steering wheel which is thick ans feels good in your hand while the xb had a plain jane mold.
Prefer the high quality cluster with blue color in the fit to the tiny, center cluster in the xb. I don't like how much plastic is on the fits dash...It's too long or seems this way b/c I'm use to the very shallow dash of the xb. I feel its a little too much and a bit unnecessary in the fit. The fit feels more solid and overall more refined.
I don't spend any time in the back seet but I'm sure others would prefer the rear of the xb. Storage is about a wash when seets are folded down but the fold up rear seat in the fit is going to be very handy at somepoint in the future.
The front seats of the fit are night and day more hugging and comfortable than the xb's. I've got side bolster and lumber support.
The tires were about 50-60% worn on the xb but even when new it wasn't great in the snow. I'm not positiive but I did drive the fit in the snow for several days and I'm convinced it handles considerable better in the snow.
I miss the xb and it only cost me $125/month to drive over the past 8 years since I purcased it new. I hope the fit treats me just as well!
Hope this wasn't too much. thanks.
