Blackstone manual transmission report
My 2012 m/t with 16K miles has had a notchy shifter since it was new. Sometimes it's hard to get into reverse, and shift from 2nd to 3rd are hesitant. I've brought it to Honda and they've said it feels okay to them.
Has anybody done a Blackstone report on manual tranny fluid? How hard is it to get a sample of the fluid from the filler hole?

Hum...
A) i'm inclined to agree that it is normal. Mine is pretty much the same, though it has gotten progressively more annoying since i'm pretty much overdue for a change @74k w/factory MT oil.
B) is it really worth a test? @$25 per test, you might as well do the change if you're so bothered by it. These test aren't really economical for everyday economy box drivers.

Thanks for your reply--
I'd like to know if there is an excess of metal floating around in there, and if there is, get honda to deal with it. After having 3 m/t civics with buttery smooth 1 finger shifters, this is just getting annoying. For $25, it seems like a reasonable one-off test.
Perhaps having the m/t fluid changed and doing the civic clutch delay valve swap at the same time would bring me closer to what I want.
