Manual Transmission Fluid Change at 60k

Hey guys,

I've not yet done a fluid swap in my '13 Honda Fit. The manual doesn't really have guidance on this other than the maintenance minder and the dealer didn't really tip me off that anything needed to be done.

Any forseeable problems doing it at 60k? I hope not, only problem I'm having now is that it's hard to get into first sometimes without moving through gears, but wanted to get everyone's opinion on this.

I'm changing mine at 41k miles (this coming Tuesday).

Nothing wrong with changing it at 60k, to be honest, I'd have changed it earlier if I were you.

I changed mine at 65k, all is well. Fluid was cleanish and there was nothing on the drain plug (I don't know if it's magnetic or not lol)

My '09 Sport MT MM gave me the code to change it at about 105k miles. So I changed it.

I'll probably change it at about 60k also. Redline MTL solved the notchy shifting on the BMW, so I'll probably use it. Same viscosity as Honda's recommended motor oil substitute. I dont know what exactly is in Honda's branded fluid, but I suspect it is nothing special. Automatics are fussy, manuals, not so much.

Got it changed. Everything seems OK although I still have a notchy shifter. Oh well, new problem.

I do city driving, color was good, no metal shavings (or not that much).

Did you use OEM Honda MTF?
