For me, it will be very interesting to see how the USDM Fit looks with the aftermarket body kits compared to the new outfitted JDM models we are seeing pop up now.

Yeah, that's the JDM Fit. Much better looking. Notice the length from behind the headlight to the A-pillar on the JDM and USDM models. The USDM Fit is a good 2+inches longer there. It messes up the lines =\

From the pictures above, did you notice the lengths from behind the headlight to the A-pillar between the USDM 07/08 and the new 09 models? The angles are slightly different though.

Looking at those pics, I do like the smaller 07/08 headlights better with the body-color on the inside.

Doesn't the first gen Fit's also have a longer nose than the JDM Jazz?

More 09 front-end Fit pics:

Yep. =) But the difference is not as noticeable as the second generation's.

The jd power 09 fit pic is a closer angle to the other pic above so I made this dumb little image in mspaint to help us see the differences between the two.

Hope it helps someone like myself still deciding between the two...

Wow! quite the matrix of Fits...

I think that the 09's are a little more aggressive looking than the 07/08s. Look at the inverted color pics that ProMed posted. It makes the differences a little more stark. Pretty cool.

Thanks for the pictures ProMed. I agree with many posters here that the new Fit is better looking, has more character. Older version is ok if one was to get the sport model.

What I think is that both Fits are sort of aquired tastes. You either hate it or love it. Most people on this site have a first gen Fit and therefore like it better. Whereas others who do not like/have the first gen fit probably like the new one more. While the new one is a little more radical and may have more character, there are a lot of other things that many fit freaks dont like (the extra space between the A-pillar and the headlights for example).

This is exactly how I see it as well. I can totally understand current Fit owners being partial to the 1st gens. Likewise, it seems like potential Fit owners are more inclined to like the 2nd gen because they don't have any kind of attachment to the 1st gens. In my opinion, they both look great and I would be happy with either one. I mainly like the 09 because it is just newer

^^^ Someone understands me! While the 09 is newer, there is something about the 08 that just looks so much better. I dont know what it is. Maybe in time the 09 will grow on me or something, but the 08 will always seem better.

My opinion is that when comparing the 09 Fit to the new JDM Jazz the nose looks much longer, but from looking at the pics I posted above the 09 nose appears to look shorter and more compact than the 07/08. The distance between the A-pillar and the headlights looks shorter to me on the 09 compared to the 07/08, but you do have to take in consideration that the A-pillar windows are larger and the wheelbase has increased 2".

Either way, I would bet that my lady probably couldn't tell the difference between the two!

I like how the 08 is perhaps muted and understated. The new 09 is starting to get slightly over-stylized and busy.

Not exactly the case for me.... I have owned a Fit since 2002 ( JDM GD1 ) and I can tell you that there will be no lost love for my 1st gen fit I am looking forward to the new 2gen platform.. for many reasons... 1 of them is better seats/more leg room

Question Am I missing something?

Is there no "Sport" designation for the 2009 Fit?
