Thud noise over dips

Hey guys, recently I've noticed my front passenger side is making a thud noise when going over small dips, especially at low speed 5-10mph.

When I installed swift springs couple of weeks ago, I did notice the bearing on the strut, below the mount was excreting lots of grease/lube type of substance. I would clean it with a towel and moments later more would come out of it.

I've checked, rechecked every nut/bolt. Everything is tight and seated properly, but the noise persists.

Could a bad bearing be the cause of this noise?

Did you re-install everything in the right order and location?

Parts #14, 18, 19 & 3 attach from the engine bay. Everything else is from below, in the wheel well.

When I did my swap, I had forgotten the huge piece (#13) when I was re-installing one side. I used a floor jack to help me lift the strut into position and part #14 was sitting half an inch to an inch off the mount location. Eventually, I realized I had forgotten the big piece. #13 is the actual piece that comes into contact between the strut and the car, it supports and keeps in position.

Yes, everything is in the right place. However, I did do what you did during the install and left out 13 when I remounted the strut lol. As of now everything is in place and torqued properly.

Dunno, can only think of two things to do now... Take it apart and re-install again or have someone take a look at it.

Then again, it could also be unrelated... For myself, one of my engine mounts eventually broke. Actually, it was the cam chain case cover (where the mount attaches to the engine block) that broke. Not pleasant.

Ouch! Hopefully my problem isn't so bad, I'm going to order the part for now, it's $20 from bernardi. I just can't think of any other reason.
Car is @30k miles, so everything should be relatively in good shape. And the noise is distinctly coming from where the strut meets the chassis.
Maybe someone else has a better idea of what it might be from experience.

*fingers crossed*

Damn it......it seems the strut bearing was not the issue. The noise is still there after installing new bearing.

Any suggestions everyone?

As I am out of ideas, I've reassembled it 2 times now. I would shake the assembly with the car on jack and can not reproduce the same noise, it is just going over dips/bumps.

Could it be that i installed the springs on the wrong way(upside down)?
The "swift logo" was right side up last time I checked however.

Problem solved!
So it turned out that I did not have the top nut #20 tighten down enough. I used the impact wrench this time to tighten it down and voila! No more noise coming from the suspension! Now its back to the sweet sound of gasoline sloshing in the gas tank =P
