Injen Cold Air Intake Experiences?

Sorry, ignore. Should have googled first. This has already been covered.

Has one put the Injen cold air intake on their Fit? I'm looking at Injen's part number SP1512. Install doesn't look all that difficult.

Anyone have experience with performance, mpg gains, sound level, etc?

There was a thread on fitfreak that showed the install and aside from the fact you have to take the front bumper/grill assemblies off the actual mounting doesn't seem to be hard. Just the stuff you have to take off to get to it.

I have this intake on my car and it is a bit of a hassle to install with taking the bumper off and whatnot but it's not horrible. The sound is much better under acceleration and I have noticed more pickup and go overall. I would definitely recommend it.

I have one. The hoses were pretty hard to take off, but other than that it just makes noise and makes you think your car got faster.

put the money into your car payment instead of a noise maker.

skip branded intakes, do a DIY intake for under $50, and save the money.

Why do you guys think the intake did not make power and just noise? Do you think it is a flaw in design or that the stock intake is maxxed out (Good design)?

because everyone who says intakes are only for noise dont do anything else to their car. They dont run higher octane for better ignition advancement. They dont run colder sparkplugs for good combustion control. and they never beat on their car enough for the hodna ecu to really adapt to the changes.

I will tell you from experience, getting rid of the factory intake was one of the pieces to my car puzzle that allows me to trap nearly 10mph faster in the quarter mile over factory.

Also, most people dont realize that when you do an intake, you are only helping one side of that bigass airpump we call the L15. Exhaust mods are mandatory to get an effect, and you can start with something as simple as getting rid of the restrictive muffler. At 5k miles, my muffler was already burnt orange and brown in teh bottom center, a clear sign of extreme restriction in the name of quiet exhaust.
