cabin control unit

In trying to access the radio fuse that needs to be pulled while towing my 2013 fit, we realized it was too difficult for me to reach, so the obvious solution was to install a switch to that fuse. in doing so we blew the fuse, and when we replaced it we still had no power. Off to the honda dealer, who stated we had done something to the inside of this "cabin control panel" (fuse box) They replaced it for a mere $1100.00 dollars, the question is since EVERYTHING else was still working why not repair the problem, We can not figure out how to get into the box/panel, it has 4 screws which we removed but can not open it anyone have any ideas?

the control panel is a multiplexed integrated control unit (MICU) which is a fancy way of saying computer that controls the function of everything from locks to lights.

It might be worthy of an insurance claim (it was an accident, right?).
