Dashboard offset to the left?
Hello FitFreak!
I'll admit I noticed this when I bought the car, but I didn't pay attention to it until recently. When I looked closer, I noticed the entire dashboard was offset a bit to the left, and it was taking the passenger-side a-pillar with it.
Is there anything I can do about this? I noticed 4 bolts, two on each side, inside the doorjamb, covered up by black plastic bolt covers. They seem to be for mounting the dashboard to the car.
The car was parked outside for the first few weeks, but has been garaged since. It was purchased nearly one year ago, now.
Thank you!

EDIT: I figured out how to properly link the images to here.
The first three images are of the driver's side.
These next four images are of the passenger's side.

Sorry I can't notice anything obvious but I would suggest you compare it side by side with another Fit, preferrably a new one on the lot.
All cars have little imperfections and no car is exactly the same as another one. Even the Fit's alignment has a range of acceptable values, which can greatly affect how the car feels.
When I bought 2012, I noticed significant difference in handling compared to my old 2010. I had the alignment checked on the '12 and it was within spec. I explain the difference in handling by either alignment or different parts (for example, shocks could come from several different suppliers).
Did you buy the car new? Did it experience anything during your ownership that could explain the dash position?

Just for yuks and grins, have you noticed that the mirrors are different sizes? I have a 13 Base and one day noticed that the passenger side mirror is more square; driver side mirror is more oblong. I'd never noticed that before. I can see great with both mirrors and really depend on them.

Mines almost exactly like it. There was a thread where someone brought that issue to the dealership and they didn't do anything about it, because they compared it to another fit in the lot with the same issue. The right hand side has a big enough gap by the small dash window that you can see foam underneath there, correct?

Yes, there is a gap all-about the passenger-side a-pillar (the grey plastic part).
I'm sorry, I meant to reply earlier. I apparently never submitted an earlier post. Thank you everyone for helping out. I took a look around the lot, and the few remaining '13 Fits seem to have this issue.
It has stopped bothering me, since. But it is something I'll keep an eye out if I'm in the market for a new car anytime soon (I'll likely forget if it's more than a few years out ).
