I own a 13 Honda Fit Sport and I finally realized that the rattle that I hear near the front window is from the seat belt shoulder strap height adjustment. Does anyone else have that problem? Even better, does anyone know how to fix the problem?

 

I'll look and see if it happens to me. I have rattling from my passenger side view mirror when I play loud music

 

Are you sure it's from the seat belt adjuster? I had a similar noise and thought it was the adjuster; but I actually discovered it was coming from my visor. Where I have a Bluetooth converter and pen that was attached to it, would rattle at certain times.

 

I have the same year and model extension and I also have a rattle just by my left ear while driving. I always thought it was something in the door but I'll pay closer attention next time I take a drive. Thanks!

 

The rattle is high and on the left. I don't think it is the sun visor; I thought it was the top of the window for a long time.

 

My 2013 Sport makes the same rattle. Adjusting the height stops the noise for couple of minutes... and to be honest, I got used to the rattles. I'm at 40K and it just gets worse by the mile. Just crank your radio up

 

I've driven a bunch since first reading this thread and wouldn't you know it - I have not heard the rattle again! I tried blasting some bassy music, but no dice as well. If the rattle really is the seatbelt adjustment I would imagine using some form of foam tape somewhere in that mechanism might help.

 

I have the same issue on my 2012 base and it's absolutely irritating. It sounds like metal buzzing. I also have a rattle in the drivers window when it's down. I'm at 42k, and I gotta say I am not impressed. I know it's hondas cheapest car but they really should be embarrassed. It makes me wanna trade it in for a new one. I will be having the dealer look at it.

 

I have a noise coming from behind the passenger side dash (or at least that's where it sounds like it's coming from) that sounds just like a loud cricket. It only seems to do it when the inside of the car is below about 70 degrees like in the winter or in the summer when I've been driving for a while with the A/C blasting. Have any of you experienced this? It's incredibly annoying.
(Sorry, a little off topic, but I figured while we're talking about rattles and squeeks)

I took my 2013 Fit Sport to the local Honda dealer today for a oil change & tire rotation and the technician test drove the car for my noise issue. He did hear a noise, but determined that it was the molded plastic part inside the hatchback lid. It was rubbing against the metal part and he put some odd tape under the plastic part. It did seem to have no screws to adjust the fit against the inside part of the hatchback.

However....I still hear the seat belt shoulder strap height noise. As already mentioned, it does go away temporary if you lower, or even move, the shoulder strap height adjustment. It is not as bad in cold weather. At least the dealer has the information on record for when the car goes out of warranty.
