Seat Belt Chime Issue... PASSENGER SEAT

Hey, ive got on 06 fit, and im having issues with the seatbelt chime continuously going off when i put all my medical books in the passenger seat of my car, YES i wear my seatbelt all the time but the weight of the books in the passenger seat make the car think someone is sitting in it without their belt on, i dont wanna spend $30 on an extender, will a buckle from another year/model honda work? say i cut off a belt latch from a 05 accord. would it work? Thanks!

Just click the passenger side seatbelt in place. You wear the drivers side belt, click the passenger side in place. Or put the books in the back.

being a douche? LOL you are having a problem, when you put your books in the passenger seat it causes the car to think there is a passenger and sets off the seat belt chime. Logic would then dictate that maybe you should put said books on the floor or the back seat. That is what most of use would do, you though? Nope you want to find a seat belt buckle that will clip in that can get it to stop, BUT you don't want to use the one that is in the car.

SO you are either A) one of those d-bags that think seat belts take more lives then save them and your asking us for a work around the issue with out saying you don't wear your seat belt, or B) you are thinking to hard to try and solve a very easy issue.

ok this is what you do.....

Get a old credit card or ID card, blockbuster card, whatever. Cut it to the shape of the male end of the seat belt buckle. insert into the female end and bam. no more ringer.

I have done this for years with no issue. Try bending a credit card or something similar in half... it wont break... just bend.
