Seat belt tid bit
Seat belt tid bit
The first time I had a rear passenger [passenger side] they said hey- this seat belt doesn't stay hooked up. Made a mental note. A week later I tried the belt and sure enough, it wouldn't stay hooked up. Pissed, I figured I'd take it to the dealer and get a fix. Then today, I noticed the REAL clasp for that belt hiding under the seat. I use the magic seats a ton and the freakin clasp worked it's way under the seat, hanging there laughing at me when I raised the seat. DUH!
Moral- your belts work. Seek under and ye shall find.

The same thing happened to me the first time I had passengers in the back seat. It took a little head-scratching but I finally figured out the problem.
Every new Fit owner should take minute or two to figure out the seatbelt configuration in the back seat. The middle passenger restraint is a little more involved (2 clasps) and like you say, the buckles can easily get under the seat, confusing matters further. Once you figure it out though, it's simple enough. Since I will rarely have 3 passengers, I have purposely put the middle passenger buckles under the seat and left the others on top. That way, my passengers don;t get confused about where to buckle.
