Can a Raccoon get into a Fit?

Yesterday I mistakenly left two Tuna fish sandwiches in my Fit. I don't normally leave any food in my car and keep it pretty clean. I got in my car this evening and the whole car stunk like Tuna, I know-eww. The sandwiches were in paper sandwich bags.

I went to get the sandwiches out of the backseat and find that one of the paper wrappers in on the seat and the other is on the floor behind the drivers seat. One has some small pieces torn out of the top of the bag but is generally in tact, the other was completely in tact.

Clearly an animal got into my car and ate them but would a mouse/rat/squirrel be that clean? Is it possible that a raccoon can get into a Fit?

Not going to lie, kinda freaked out right now. :O

Maybe a wandering hobo saw the bag and opened the unlocked door, at the sandwiches and went on his way.

Had a mouse eating oyster crackers in my lower glove box this past spring. Removed everything from the glovebox except for some crackers and a rat-sized glue trap. Caught the mouse about 5 days later. From what I could tell the mouse was climbing up through the engine compartment and into the glovebox, but it could not get into the car. I worked with mice in a laboratory for years. never heard of one eating tuna, but they are surprisingly clean animals.

Then what do they mean when they say it looks like a rats nest?
lol just kiddin man.

I always make sure i put my vent to Recirculate mode when i park my car, they can easy get into the car with that vent open though the duct under the cowl.

Ha! Rats, too, are surprisingly clean (and have a surprisingly strong bite ... don't ask).

As of today I am adopting your recirc idea. That's far less cruel than the glue trap.
