Autobytel review--too harsh?
According to this:
http://www.autobytel.com/content/sha...le_id_int/1412
"Unfortunately, the textured plastics that Honda chose to use on the inside of the Fit not only look cheap with their shiny finish, but also attract every scuff mark and dust particle within ten feet of the car. Our car had only a couple thousand miles on it and already the door panels were looking rough, as was the glove box door. The dash always looked dusty no matter how many times I wiped it, and the black seat cloth was a magnet for lint. "
Any fit owners have an opinion on this?
It is a little alarming (I know it is an economy car)--I haven't ordered mine yet.

Plus the idiots didn't take the time to properly learn to operate the magic seats - "you need to remove the headrests to lay the backseat flat".
Also the bitching about the "S" setting in the automatic not shifting gears by itself...
I wanna grow up to be an automotive journalist and do my job half a**ed as well...

The plastic doesn't scratch or scuff anymore than any other plastic/vinyl I've had in other cars. If you beat the hell out of it it's gonna wear, they should know that. Also, it's a black interior, so of course they're gonna see dust easily. Keep your car clean and it's not an issue I think.

I might pick up the mugen leather cover for the rear seats
I've had mine since April 20, driven daily, already over 1600 miles on it (and by the way, the mpg is better -- now getting over 33 mpg in varied driving). The dash is textured, easy to clean, and in general the interior of the Fit is getting high praise. I drove a couple of rental cars that are supposed to be in the same subcompact class (Aveo, Rio) and I think the Fit's interior is much nicer. Yes, the fabric shows pet hair and lint. I keep a lint roller in the glove compartment. I think the interior is classy! I've posted a pic already, but if you want to see it again, let me know.
