08 Fit ck engine lite....yay...

You know this happens only when the last of the gifts are bought, all bills are paid, and you just filled the tank. Your left even (I hate to call it broke) when suddenly the check engine light comes on. First a little history on the vehicle, 2008 Fit approx. 151,000 miles, have had all recalls done and all maintenance done. Coming back from the relatives Christmas night when my wife sez " Does it feel like theres a miss in the engine?" then, I swear to God, the check engine light comes on. The check engine lite is flashing at me the last 10 miles home and never goes solid. Once home I check under the hood (fluid levels, smells, etc.) and then turn the car off. I start it back up and the engine lite stays solid for about 30 seconds, then it flashes 12 times then goes back to solid for about thirty seconds then flashes 25 times and then remains at solid and ,yep, during this time it feels like its running rough. There did seem to be a slight lack of horsepower the last 10 miles home as well. Well, there's my story sad but true. I hope someone has an idea or has experienced the same and has a fix as I really don't want to price a Civic or CRV right now. Please, someone, respond.

Fixed it for you.
Code readers are not expensive anymore. And
if you have a smart phone and buy the OBD2 interface device, you have an "app" that's always up to date and gives you the link to internet pages with an explanation right there. Only about $20.
