Bluetooth adapter and Aftermarket Alarm

Hey guys,

Is there a bluetooth adapter for our cars that will use the car speakers or is that only available with the Navi?

Also, what aftermarket alarms do you guys have? I purchased Lojack for my car, but I would still like to have an alarm. I had a Viper in my last car but it came with the door lock/unlock feature. I figured I needed a more basic one since the Fit already has that integrated in the keys.

Thanks.

I have this. It was dirt cheap and it works great. I put it by the dial that allows you to select how much air you want blowing out and even when the A/C is on max people report being able to hear me without issue. It plugs into the aux port so it goes through the speakers. The sound quality both when talking to someone and when streaming music is fantastic.

The power supply it comes with has dual USB ports on it. One USB goes to the iClever, but the other is left open and it's a 2A charger so I use it to charge my phone. When charging and streaming I hear no additional feedback. Some of the really cheap units you lose sound quality when you charge and stream at the same time.

I do have two complaints:

1.) It powers on and connects to your phone immediately, but to make/receive calls you have to switch to aux on your radio. And because it's connected immediately, if you are not on aux and your phone rings you will have no idea it's ringing (unless you have vibrate turned on, but strangely enough my phone has vibrate turned on but when it's connected to bluetooth it doesn't vibrate). This is just the nature of a cheap product like this so it is what it is. I stream Spotify pretty much every time I'm in the car so it's not a huge deal for me.

2.) If you turn your car to ignition and let it sit for little while before starting it, sometimes it'll drop the bluetooth connection and I have to go in and tell it to reconnect.

For the price (I paid $20 thanks to a since expired coupon deal), it's completely worth it. I have it in my car and my wife's 2008 Honda Civic. Reviews on the BT35-HON didn't make it sound like a very quality unit (streaming quality and call quality wasn't always the best) so I decided to save the money and try the iClever first. I'm glad I did.

I have the BT35-HON, the best part it integrates as if it came that way from the factory, there is nothing visually dangling around and i get to use my steering wheel controls! i mounted the mic in the same spot as the OEM location (in the middle of the map light). Streaming audio is terrible, so I always listen to music via the aux plug, but even the best BT chip isnt as good as direct (i.e. plugged) connection. Phone conversation quality however, is perfect.

I use
this device this device
, plugged directly into the Aux jack. It has a small battery but I leave it connected to USB power from a quad-port adapter. This has the downside that I need to connect it manually by holding the 'on' button about 10s after power-on. It works well though, for streaming talk radio and phone conversations.

Thanks for the replies guys. I ended up going with a cheaper option.

Coincidentally, this is what I ended up buying. I ordered it about 3 days ago and received it today. I've only used for 2 minutes so far, but I'll test it more tomorrow. How do you turn this off? Mine kept blinking blue when I shut off the car.

USA Spec BT45-HON3 - it's the newer version of the bt35 mentioned above.

I previously owned the bt35 and I would not buy it again, it's just ok with voice calls but as far as streaming music it's crap so I wouldn't go down that road.

I know it's a bit more $$ but it's worth it over the old version as it has much better audio quality, especially for streaming music
