Fan speeds degraded but still functional?

Fan speeds degraded but still functional?
Hello fellow Fit lovers,
This issue started over the weekend. I originally thought it was the popular item where the fan blower only operates on 4, but this appears to be different.
I have a 2010 Honda Fit Base that just passed 66k miles.
Runs fine.
Over the weekend it was hot, 90+ both days, and we did some highway driving (~75 miles) each way.
The problem is this:
On the way down, the AC/fan was blowing fine.
However, we noticed that after a certain time of driving the fan stopped blowing as powerful as it should. The AC continued to pump cold air.
We get to our destination and let it sit overnight.
When we go to leave the next day, we were surprised that the fan speeds returned to normal. However, after driving for a period of time, the fan speed appeared to decrease in power again.
Any advice on where I should start?
Thanks guys!
Sean

I picked up the motor resistor today from the dealer and will be putting it in tonight. Hoping it will do the trick.

Okay. I hope so. Sounds to me like a connector issue or the blower motor is failing. The high setting is full power from the battery. No resistor in line. If fading on high i suspect the blower itself, or a connector is bad, heating up, and resistance increases under load slowing the motor down.

it's most likely the evaporator freezing up, not sure what the real solution is to it but there's some threads on here about it. had the same thing happen when we were driving across the country about a month and a half ago - occurred in st louis on a fairly warm day.

Well to be honest I got this resolved, just forgot to post the fix.
I added freon and changed the pollen filter when I was doing the oil change. We just took it on a trip over the weekend and another trip during the week, both over an hour one way. Issue hasn't came back, and the AC blows so much colder.
I guess every 4.5 to 5 years it jeeds a recharge. Hope this helps someone else who may have a similar symptom down the line.

Is it just the output that fades or is the actual fan motor also slowing down? Like does the pitch in the motor hum also change?
Cause it sounds like you have a little bit of evap freezing up and therefore blocking the flow rather than resistor or motor troubles.
Oh wait looks like youve solved the issue
