Fan constantly turning off and on

Has anyone noticed that when you have the fan inside the car turned on, the engine fan (??) will constantly turn on and off???

This happens with my car and it annoys me to hear the fan turn off and on so much....

Question

Would you rather it just ran all the time ?

Question though: you said you're running the interior fan when this happens - is either the AC or heat on at the time? Those would also effect the frequency of the engine cooling cycle and the radiator fan!

That only happens when you have the A/C on.

If it never turned on you would have a problem.
This happened to me on my old car.
The sound of the radiator fan turning on is like a breath of cool cool air.

No AC or Heat...just regular cold air...sometimes warm...but it just bothers me to hear the fan turn on, turn off, turn on, turn off...

too bad it's not quieter then I wouldn't hear it as much....

It's normal. I thought it was a slight problem , it's just your radiator fan cooling the engine/coolant.

yeah if your fan doesn't kick in from time to time, you better go get that checked...otherwise you might overheat

is your dial on one of the defrost settings? If so, then that's the issue. Defrost kicks the a/c condenser on - always. If a/c is on, then your engine fan will go on (and off and on...).

I have noticed that when I have the vents on that the fan runs and drops power as if the AC was on...
