Question Rims for Snow Tires

Hi all,

Got my 2009 Fit base a few weeks ago and want to get a second set of factory rims to put snows on. Not having great luck finding them used so, as much as it pains me to, I might have to buy them new.

I could use some guidance from the more knowledgeable here. The part number I found using Honda's estore was 42700-TK6-A01 but many of the online sites don't reference the 2009 model. The bone yard by me thought the rim for the 2009 was year specific and their used parts search didn't show any in the area.

Also, if any of you bought rims did you have to order the TPMS sensor and related pieces separately or were they included on the rim already? Thanks for the assist.

Not sure if you are looking at steel or alloy but I'm fairly certain 09-10 were the same and the 12- 13 were the same 09-13 should fit. As far as steel 4x100 bolt pattern and I think it's 56.1 center bore. Both 15 & 16in steels should fit.

You can also go with some 14" wheels... (at least, I have 14" in the winter on old Civic alloys)

Surely you could find 14 or 15 inch steelies on craigslist. Got these for $30 and put my General Altimax Arctics on them. Can't wait to run them!

Thanks for all the suggestions. I don't think I need anything more than steel rims for the snows and was hoping to keep the costs down. I still have the old rims from my 99 Civic but don't know if they'd fit or could be adapted for TPMS (since I have an extended warranty I don't want to do anything that would void it). @Hondafrk: Thanks for the Craigslist tip. I'll have to do some looking there to.

The rims from the '99 civic should fit if they are 14" or larger. No worries on the TPMS since you have an '09. Just run without and the light will be on during the winter. When you swap back to summer wheels, the light will go out. I picked up 15" Integra Alloy wheels on Craigslist for around $50 plus the trade of a strut tower brace for a 98 Civic. Search for 4x100 Honda Civic Wheels (14" or 15") you can also search for Integra Alloy wheels (I believe 1990 or after - again 4x100 lug pattern) will work. I had a 93 integra GS and a 2000 Integra GS-R that had wheels that would fit. Lastly, any of the Honda Fit wheels will work as well (2007+)

There's lots of options out there on Craigslist for both factory and aftermarket wheels. The benefit is, if it fits, is in ok shape, and is cheap, it's great for Snow Tires.

Trying to do the same with my 09 FIT and was wondering about the TPMS?
It's optional to purchase on TireRack, but thought I read some threads on tirerack that if you don't have TPMS then the traction control didn't work correctly?
Any insights into if TPMS is actually needed or not? if all it does is monitor tire pressure I can do without it

u wont be able to turn off VSA via the button. however, u can unplug the button and it will disable vsa. i thought 09's didnt come standard with VSA.

I don't have a button on my '09 base so I don't think I have it.

No traction control on '09 or '10 unless the car came with factory navigation, and that would be only the Sport models that came with factory navigation.

Winter mode 😂 I had to get a centric ring machined by a shop locally because i bought a universal steel wheels from a guy. its hub bore is 72.5mm or something fit has 56.1mm. And i can't find it online or locally. No vibrations but just real heavy feeling. 😪😪

I was searching for weeks to find used steel rims on craigslist but I had very little luck and people were asking crazy prices when I did find a set. New they were pretty expensive as well. Luckily I found a set of sport rims on craigslist and they came with the factory installed tires for less than I could have purchased the steel rims new on tire rack. Unfortunately thought they did not come with TMPS which is why I just posted a question about whether or not they are easy to install yourself.

Anyway...i was I was psyched to find them on craigslist. If worse comes to worse just have the tires swapped out on the rims you have and look for a set over the summer. Don't buy new when you can find them cheaper unless you plan on owning the car for a really long time.
Between the snow tires and the wheels...safety does not come cheap. That said...I should be all set with tires for the next three years which is when I plan to sell it.

I have 16" steel wheels on mine with Yokahama snow tires. What a huge difference it makes.
