Anyone considered wrapping their car?

I am curious what I could expect to pay to have my 2010 fit sport wrapped and how it is expected to hold up in the winter months. If you've had yours wrapped or even looked into...what did you learn and how much were they asking to wrap it?

Around my neck of the woods a full wrap is between $900-$1400, it holds up well to the elements and winter road grime.

I was thinking about this, mine is beginning to rust (small points). It could be a solution to solve the fragile paint problem.

charly - make sure it's not embedded rail dust. u can usually polish tiny rust dots off with some ScratchX (meguair's) on a foam pad. ..and wax afterwards.

unless of course you are missing paint from an actual impact chip. those u will need to touch up with paint.

If you were to do a wrap, you'll want to make sure the top surface is contaminate free before applying any last step product. (wrap, expel, 3m, coatings, etc..)

Hi Kenchan, you're on the right track (no pun) about rail dust, which essentially is iron deposits that bond to the surfaces of vehicles. One, because they travel from the factory by rail, but secondly is all the acidity form industrial fall out, etc. The best thing for rail dust is Car Pro Iron-X, or Allied Iron Debugger. You'll want to decontaminate the vehicle of rail dust before you take an abrasive to it.

1.) wheels & tires first
2.) Bug & tar removal
3.) rinse car
4.) Iron-X Decon (per instructions)
5.) wash car
6.) Clay to remove bonded contaminents
7.) Now polish... A good AIO (HD Speed or Menzerna All In One).
8.) optional (top off with LSP of choice).
