p0113 out of the blue
p0113 out of the blue
So the latest....09 SSM Fit currently has 141,000 on the odometer and runs well, despite occasional jerking from what I think is either the transmission or coil packs (not sure since this site references both for that symptom).
Yesterday I noticed my STFT (which are usually positive under 10%) started going negative, first in single digits less than 8% but occasionally went double digits. Checked the filter, came back in and the check engine light went on, ultraguage reported p0113. Luckily I keep an extra MAP/IAT sensor in the truck due to a previous issue years ago, and that straightened out the code, but the Ultraguage keeps alerting me, and the trims are still negative.
I will continue to monitor, and will disconnect the battery and see if it helps but my searching for the code shows alot of potential culprits if it continues.
Does anyone have any tips or advice they can share on this?
Also, if plugs or coils were going bad, wouldnt I get a misfire CEL as soon as it happens (since it is always monitored)?
Thanks!

All my car did was run bad, with occasional random check engine lights,
Honestly the coil packs are a maintenance item. I've had to change
them at some point on every COP engine I've owned. Usually at about 100K..
Those packs take a beating, they are in a hot location, handling 40K volts.
Stuff just wears out under those circumstance..
I change O2 sensors every 80K miles as well, almost always brings back some mileage and I never have CAT failures..

an update
So today I find my car unable to start and needed a jump. Drove for an hr, parked for coffee, needed another jump (thanks Doraville PD!)
A few weeks ago the car was unable to start after having been parked at the airport for a few days. I blamed it on my leaving my ultraguage, usb cable for y phone and dash came even though none should have been recieving power (I think the UG uses a small amount)
So not wanting to take chances, and not wanting to cram a 51r in there, though I was really tempted to, I went to Curry Honda on Buford and picked up a 151 for $90.....They went to install it themselves but after them whack my ECU with the bracket stays since they wanted to use a power tool instead of a box wrence (lazy), I jumped in and did it myself.
Long story short, car feels ok, though I didnt get a chance to idle-learn it. Fuel trims back to positive.....
I've heard stories of the craziness cars can go through when the battery is on it's way out. On my third battery now @ 141,000 on my 09.
Also making sure to disconnect everything when I park.
fingers crossed.
