hissing in engine compartment by belt area

So I popped the hood after driving to check the engine bay and heard a low hissing sound down by the serp belt area. No leaks but the leak worries me as I could be the water pump or AC compressor, both PITA jobs for me to do as I no longer have access to a full garage anymore.

does anyone have more info to determine if this is normal or whether I need to shelf any future mods and purchase a new water pump or ac compressor instead?

Thanks!

Normal.
Any time the AC compressor has been operating (with AC on, auto function, or defrost), it will be normal to hear hissing after you shut the engine off, as pressures inside the AC system slowly equalize.

The AC noises can go on for a good 10 minutes or more after you shut the car off.

Note: If you smell hot antifreeze (sickeningly sweet smell) that would be a problem that needs pursued further.

The typical AC noises will never cause a smell.
