Air conditioner stinks, need evaporator diagram?

Hi all! So my AC stinks, and from the limited amount of information it seems as though I probably have mold/mildew in my evaporator box (is that the correct term?).
I would like to open it up and clean out everything, check the drain hose to make sure it isn't clogged, and then start a maintenance schedule of using the fungicides you can spray into the dash vents to help keep it from recurring. Problem is, I don't know how to go about doing this. Is this an "easy" job? Anyone know of a diagram?

Thanks!
Jeff

Its possible that if you remove the HVAC/Climate air filter you can see in there.. With a mirror? Its pretty easy to get to..

White vinegar kills mold and once it dries out the smell goes away.. (About 1 part vinegar 2 to 3 parts water.. )

I periodically spray Lysol in the cowl vents with A/C running full on recirc, shut it off a minute, then restart the fan with the doors open.

cabin air filter

It might be helpful to clean or replace the cabin air filter after you check it out, sometimes they can become musty

To avoid this from reoccurring, I usually turn off the A/C a block from the house, but leave the fan on. This blows outside air through the (inactive) evaporator and helps to dry it out before I shut the engine off.

mine stinked too, especially when i used a cheap air filter.

however this is a good one that doesn't stink! https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

it doesn't stink!! but when you first use it a bunch of white powder might come out of your vents so watch out! don't point it towards your face.
