Air conditioner smell- spray alcohol solution?

Toyota's website suggests spraying a diluted alcohol solution (I think 4 or 5 parts water to 1 part alcohol) into the air intake to solve the problem.

Honda's website doesn't suggest this (but it doesn't say not to do it).

Any reason not to do this?

i also got that smell, but only when im using the ac or putting it on cool. doesn't bother me much, but you can try and get 1 of those air freshener trees and slip it in before putting the filter back haha might help

Clearly I'm not an authority but I don't think alcohol will hurt anything and it could reduce mold growth. Distilled vinegar could also work, although that would more reduce odors than kill mold. Either will not smell afterwards, which unfortunately isn't something you can say for chlorine - the chemical that really kills mold. Also dangerous in an enclosed space. So don't use chlorine.

any good car freshner would prove to be good for your car keeping it away from odor.. i dont think that alcohol would be a good solution as it may make the odor more chocking in its smell......
