Hi all I am having very untimely issues with my AC.

For a while now it has been cutting off more and more frequently to the point where It would barely come on at all. I rarely use the AC. Anyways I thought I'd try refrigerant.

Because I could not get the compressor to cycle on I could not get a reading on it nor get any r-134A into the system. I tried again the next morning when I first started the car and managed to get it going and get some R-134A into the system. I got it up to 38 psi or so in the operating range when it cut off and now I have not been able to get it to come on at all. BTW no clicking noises or anthing but humming vroom on and off when idleing which I assume is the alternator or something.

Is there anything else I can try? Bypass the relay (how?)

 

OK I've done more reading. The humming is the compressor coming on. It comes on very sporadically and shuts off in less than 3 seconds before I can even hook up the guage to see where I am at pressure wise.

 

You might have to replace the compressor. Honda could have a bulletin on this. I have a '13 Fit with 35,000 miles & the compressor went out. My extended warrenty covers it, but dealer also said compressor should not have gone out that early. Was not having any problems with A/C before this.
