Ooh, ouch. Air freight hurts on large items. Looking back at the pictures, did they just cut off some of the factory brackets and reweld them in the right positions for the new parts? That would make more sense than fabricating new ones I guess.

Yeah i know. But im not waiting 6 months again for parts. Theyll probably cover the air freight. Theyll definitely cover the cost of the new part and regular shipping. Im not waitin 6 months again for this part.

Still have some hope that its at least in the country and that the courier will find it.

Got my fingers crossed for ya bud. Seems ridiculous that they misplaced a HUGE thing like a lip.

I know it sucks, at least aj racing is on the ball trying to figure this out. My parts are not the only items on this pallet. They had a few more kits of stuff on there too, so they have a lot of pressure to find it or replace it asap.

At least those parts are available. Things get real sketchy when you're dealing with discontinued or custom parts. My guess is some other shop got an extra mystery lip.

Yeah for now. The mugen leds are already about to be discontinued. But the the grille and lip are still in stock i believe. As long as the supplier in japan can get it out fast, i still stand a chance with air freight.

Today is a good day, painting will be completed in 30 minutes. Double baking and fully cured by friday, which is when i get the fit back. Paint protection will go on before i drive it back home.

Completed assembly pics coming by wednesday! All parts are working , hood latch is aligned and functioning, washer fluid bottle is just missing the filler tube from japan. Got a free coolant flush out of this too since the radiator had to be removed in the process.

Mugen parts will arrive in vancouver by latest next tuesday, then overnighted to me. Have a local paint guy lined up to do the paint in 1-2 days with double baking, then more paint protection on the lip and ready to go for my departure to fresno.

What a ride lol

Nice! What did you do about the side covers between the front fenders and the quarter windows? Is the wiper cowl the same as the North America version or was that a JDM piece as well?

Thanks guys! So pumped to see it in person!

The side covers both need to be replaced with the jdm counterpart. One has been installed, but i guess he just didnt get to the other side last night.

The cowl is different, i opted to leave the usdm one in because the supporting frame is totally different and the jdm cowl would require a ton of cutting to fit right. I dont mine the small corner gaps, for now anyway.

Shinjari, read my above comment.

Mugen parts are leaving japan today by air and coming straight to my house.

So it's safe to assume those aftermarket jdm cowl covers are not going to match up in any scenario? Bummer, cause some of them look really nice.

Oh, and the jdm side covers will fit with USDM glass and JDM fender combo?
