Rockers rot out right in front of wheel well...

Also, wash out rear wheels wells so stuff doesn't sit in there..... otherwise the
LIP where the quarter panel meet the inside of the wheel well Disappear...

ALSO......
Two products I total DIG....... and use they are BY SEM..........

Rust Preventer......... (amber cavity wax) aerosol or shutz gun...... get aero wand as well if using aerosol cans.....

AND Rust Trap......... I like it in black...............

Jack that fit up..... Throw it on some stands....... and go to town.... with those two products.....

pop out the rubber plugs... and spray (Preventer) the snot out of the inside of the rocker panels.....
spray it in the doors through the drain holes(or remove interior panels)
Brake lines....... inside panels... cross members... once you spray it some you will get the idea....

Rust Trap
goes on any metal that is showing rust...... IE: control arms... suspension parts.... brackets etc..... etc.....

I was sending a car up to your neck of the woods... for about three years.........
First into Geneseo country...... and then two winters in Fredonia...........
I would paint the underneath of this car and spray preventer every fall.........
It was definetly saving the life of the vehicle...... AND this car was and OLD Ford......
Which as in mint condition when I got it....... Sadly, It sh#t the bed!.... tRANNY WENT POOP!

BUT, Yeah! I totally, know what you are up against up in that neck of th woods.......
AND you prepare the car before every winter...... really well...(not half asssss)
and after the winter...... you go over it welll just touching up.............

I also like to spray something on the rust before I use the Rust trap.......
It is something called "Rust Fix"..... it is a rust converter... changes rust to primer....

ALSO............. I like spraying Rust Trap.....
I thin it at about 30% with EUrathane reducer...........(by TransStar)
DONT use your paint sprayer....... it will ruin it...
BUT...... use those little glass jars that you can screw a propellant can on top of the jar....(cant remember what they are called at the moment...

Hey good luck!

Chime back with any questions.......

I keep my 2007 Fit clean and garaged and have no problems with rust at all on it. It's the best car I've ever owned when it comes to rust protection. And I've owned cars since 1977.

Some. With an econobox, nothing helps but everything helps. I also put in those form fitting mats, back and front, and made a cargo area cover. It will never be as quiet as my wife's Accord.
