Engine Flood

Engine Flood

Hello

My cars engine stalls/dies out when coming to stop/traffic light.

***Its like the engine is being flooded with gasoline*** ???

I already replaced the all 4 coil-packs all are OEM (NEW), spark plug all NEW.
I went to the dealer and had them adjust the valve for $300.
Bought a new Battery. Always replace the engine air filter after 3k miles.
Engine is stock.

I always clean the MAF sensors, terminals.

On one occasion this happened the "check engine light" came out, after
a day it disappeared. and everything was OK, this happened three or four weeks ago.

(This stalling/engine dying-out started to happen last year.)

POSSIBLY a bad cam/crank sensor?

If this is the problem will this be an expensive fix?

If I came to a stop light the engine dies-out , whats dangerous is
even when I am on the highway the engine just dies....

I don't think so. Looks like the part is only about $40 and not terribly inaccessible. It could easily be something else but I wouldn't be surprised if it was that sensor.

You should take the car to autozone or something and ask them to scan it for codes even though it may not have a CEL light on.

Today engine is working perfect. But i really need to find out
What part to replace.

Where can i find that cam/crank sensor i will just replace it.

I looked at the engine diagrams and on the GD3 it's down by the crankshaft pulley but I can't find one on the GE8. I'd have to assume that the GE8 has a cam or a crank position sensor but I can't find it. Call up a honda dealership and ask them.

I'd also look into that faulty ignition switch theory in the other thread. I've never had that problem in a car so it didn't come to mind.

it was my fault, it seems when I cleaned the maf sensor I did not put it back tight enough....
now everythings OK
