Unhappy Intermittent rear door lock problems

The rear doors on my 09 Jazz are playing up and intermittently refusing to open from either inside or out. Sometimes you can unlock one with the internal door latch and you can also unlock by flicking the master door lock switch back and forth a few times. It can be either door and I can't replicate a situation where it will definitely occur. Both front doors work perfectly every time. When it does happen, the actuators sound a tad unhealthy.
Does anyone have any ideas?
Where does the power door lock relay live?

cheers
Andy

What do the actuators sound like? Mine squeak occasionally, especially when it's been cold out or I haven't started the car in a few days.
