Highway accident jan 31

I was in a serious car accident on January 31.

Long story short. Everyone is alive. But a little sore.
My wife was in the front with my dad driving on the highway. Sudden loss of control and we really don't know why it happened. Only car involved. We think the front tire blew out.

hug your loved ones. Life is some scary shit.

Worth taking things off to sell?
I only had liability (which I'm kicking myself about)
so I am wondering if what's left is worth something.

Alex

also this car is amazingly safe apparently.

It looks like the car did exactly what it's designed to do in the accident and protected the people inside well. That's good to see.

The only things that might be worth my time to take off separately would be any special interior customization bits (if any). Otherwise, unless your time is essentially worthless, I think you'd have a hard time making it worth your time.

very glad your people are okay. That's some serious damage from a blowout! Did the front wheel come off? Did the car roll? I don't see damage on the roof, but both sides of the car. I have no idea what's worth salvaging, and pardon the questions. I understand if you don't care to answer. Wow, very glad for your family.

I bought the car less than a month ago too.

I guess I'll just take the battery out if I can..brand new.

edit: don't know what happened in the front. Didn't get the wheel back with the original tow. We are scratching our heads wondering what happened. Only conclusion to us that makes sense is a blowout after YouTube searches.

me and my gf were asleep and woke up from this happening my dad who was driving said he heard a loud bang but not sure what it was from

edit 2: forgot that it also had an airbag recall that was never fixed with previous owner and I had the email in the car to take it to a honda dealer. They still did their job thankfully

it's terrible, and terrifying. I did notice that you became a member of fitfreaks just two weeks ago. Make sure you and your family get some serious and safe r&r. from a fellow Canadian, in Toronto. So glad for those airbags.

Good to hear all survived
I had a wreck in my 03 Civic HX and saw how bad the old steel frames bent
A fender bender in my 09 Fit survived far better
I am a fan of high tensile steel

fit parts salvage

glad to hear the car is the only tragic part of the accident. maybe a huge pothole ripped the wheel off? If you have the time, many of the interior parts would have some value on the big auction site depending on condition
