New (to me) 2010 Fit Sport

I joined FitFreak back in 2011 when I bought a 2008 Fit Sport with just under 52,000 miles. Sadly, that Fit, dubbed "Fitty-Cent" by my wife, met its demise on October 9th when an unlicensed driver turned left in front of me. It had 181,916 miles on it, and it was the best car I've ever owned. I started looking at cars, and, of course, a Fit was at the top of my list based on my experience with my 2008. I considered other makes and models, but I kept coming back to Honda Fits. I found this 2010 Taffeta White Fit Sport with 60,120 miles on it and pulled the trigger. It's not perfect, but it had a clean CarFax with no accidents and regular services indicated.

At the moment, I'm calling it "Two-Fitty".

FitFreak gave me a lot of valuable information when I had the GD, so I'm looking forward to all of the insight on the GE now.

Very clean looking example. Hope it gives you many years and miles of service!

Not digging the pin stripes personally...

I like Honda Fits. (Obviously).
But having owned a 2010 Honda Fit Sport, I would say it's a great incarnation of the model.
I really liked the way my now departed 2010 handled and drove. It's not only a Fit, but I think one of the better model incarnations of a Fit.
Enjoy.

Very nice! Glad to see you stayed in the Fit world.

I would have done the same thing if replacing our GD. The GE's are a little more difficult to work on than the GD, but more comfy and a more solid chassis. Should serve you well!

A fine choice hiwatt357! I love your family's car names. Ours is Felix The Fit.

I'm not a fan of the pinstripes either, but that's how it came. I'd rather have a car with a clean, accident-free CarFax report with recorded maintenance and pinstripes than a car with more miles, zero recorded maintenance and 3 accidents on a CarFax report and no pinstripes.

oh yah, be weary of pin stripes on used cars. its possible that is where the paint ends if repaired.

u can remove them using a heatgun, but on a used car id just let them be. i mean it doesnt look horrible or anything. probably some older guy was driving it before.

Or dealer installed. My Dad's new CR-V has hideous pin stripes that were dealer added.

I agree that the one's pictured above aren't bad at all. At least they appear straight and are a good color for the car.

For me, it would need window tint. White and black always look best with tint for me.

Window tinting is likely the next thing I'll do. My 2008 Fit Sport had tinted windows, and they definitely made a difference.

They're likely dealer-installed. I don't think I'm going to remove them, though. I don't want to run the risk of still seeing where they used to be due to the paint difference. It's an 8 year-old car, so I'd say there's a high probability that the paint under them is going to be different than the rest of the car.

Again, not a fan, but they don't look horrible, so they shall remain.

Almost One Year Update

Well, I'm closing in on one year with Two-Fitty, so I thought I'd post an update. I've logged a little over 17,500 miles since I bought it on October 26, 2017, and thus far, I like it quite a bit. My average mileage is better than my GD, which I like. 32.6 MPG average over those 17,500 miles, and that's living in Atlanta with a 76-mile round-trip work commute through some of the worst traffic imaginable and some pretty darn warm weather. I've read complaints about the seats, but they seem just fine to me...and I spend a minimum of 2 hours a day in my car, so if they were horrible, I'd definitely know by now. Maintenance has been pretty standard. No big or costly surprises, so that's also good. If I have one complaint, it's the paint. As I mentioned in my initial post, this car wasn't perfect, but it was a pretty good value, which is why I selected it over others I had driven. But having been a Florida car, the paint has that sort of dull/chalky-looking appearance. I had it waxed right after I got it, and that helped, but it's due for another waxing. Bummed that I'm going to have to stay on top of that because, I'm not gonna lie, I never waxed my 2008 GD (Fitty-Cent), and the paint still looked great. But...it's minor in the grand scheme of things, right? There's also some interior plastic trim rattling near the right A-Pillar that bugs me. I'll chase it down one day, but it's just not on the front-burner at the moment.

I'll likely need new tires before the end of the year, so then I guess I'll need to figure out whether or not I stick with the stock size or go with the 205/50-16 size for more options.

But yeah, I dig Two-Fitty. Sure, I kinda miss ol' Fitty-Cent, but I do think this car is a fine replacement.

Oh, and I did finally get the windows tinted back in late July. Looks better, and it certainly helps with reducing the heat in the summertime.
