TPMS sensors with non-TPMS rims?
So without much foresight, I bought a set of used GK rims on the cheap for a summer set (snows on the stock 16s right now). I want to run them with TPMS sensors, but those rims don't usually house them (and don't have the counterweights). Is it still fine to install sensors on these rims and just have a tire shop balance them? (along with reprogramming for the new sensors?)
I figure I can use those rims without TPMS in the worst case, but I also want to have the option of disabling VSA and finally getting to turn off the TPMS light.

Sensors are quite light, it will be fine when tire balance is done normally.
IMO some issues might include:
Getting sensor stem gasket to seal against the wheel and be air tight, assuming the sensor will fit (depends on machined surfaces)
Location and position of the sensor might become an issue during tire installation or removal
