motegi rims TPMS issue

I just put Motegi rims on my Fit as the factory ones were stolen. My wife said she ran over a pothole and the TPMS sensor went off. Is there a way to find out if the sensor is broken or if the sudden change in tire presure just made the sensor go off. This happened a month ago and the TPMS light is still on. Thanks

You probably just need to go get it reset at the dealer. Unless the place that mounted your rims damaged one of the sensors in which case the dealer again could tell you when you go in to have the light reset. When i bought my car a week ago i had them put the stock sport rims back on because they wanted $3000 for the 16" Honda rims and Potenza tires... i told them they were smokin something good and needed to share. I made it 20 miles from the dealer and the TPMS light came on. I had it reset the next day and it hasnt come back on since.

I hope just a reset is all that is needed. I thought I read somewhere on this site that the reset is a scam...thanks I hope you are right.

Well the dealership just told me that Pep Boys probably didnt synch the TPMS sensor in each wheel to the ECU. They have an IR tool that synchs each TPMS sensor to the ECU. Anyone have any experience with this...I hate stealerships.

Try disconnecting the battery for a minute and reconnect it. Make sure you have your radio code first
