Transmission issues

I got a 2009 Fit sports Automatic that threw P0843 code D started flashing. Replaced the 2nd gear pressure switch from the Dealer and flushed the fluid but did not solve the problem . Took it to a local garage and at 1st they said the 2nd gear pressure switch is bad (obviously just read the code and told me that's what went bad without even diagnosing. ) as I told him I had replaced it already, the mechanic says he thinks it' the trans then and he'll diagnose it more and call me back. He calls me back 6 hours later and says it is the trans and wants to charge me $1500 for a junkyard trans including labor. The car only has 110k miles and My question is could it really be the trans, solenoid or something else ? Has anyone had the similar issues or has any idea how should I go about it. I dont mind changing the trans if the problem is internal but I feel like the mechanic I'm dealing with is just guessing it is.I would ppreciate any information. Thanks and sry about the long post.

Wrong pressure switch? You replaced a switch, but where was it located?

There are two on the trans to choose from. (The easy one out front near the dipstick is for 3rd gear.)

Wiring confirmed okay? Rodents love to eat wires. If one has a scanner that can display the necessary live transmission data, it's pretty easy to confirm the integrity of the wiring for each of the pressure switches. Ground the wire in question and make sure the data shown for the associated switch changes from off to on.

Pressure switch

Hey, ezone thank you for your replay. The code says 2nd gear pressure switch which I got from the dealer was brown in color. And yes I swapped the one right next to the dipstick which was the same color (assuming that was it and also somewhere I read 3rd gear pressure switches come in a different color but never confirmed it on my car) do you think they both come in brown and I swapped out the wrong pressure switch ? Thanks again.
