Code P0847 & P0756

Just went to Autozone and got these codes pulled as i have a flashing D and check engine light intermittently on (when the light is on, wont change to 5th, sometimes lurches between 1st&2nd). Been reading up some, and it would appear the prudent option would be to replace (or at least check) the 3rd Clutch Fluid pressure switch, but i am drawing a blank on where its located. anyone know?

Just had the same problem

  • I just had the same problem with my sport automatic transmission 13’ Fit! I have 49500 miles on mine and was a little flipped out when it happened. Initally I had gotten a P0843 code (which is for the 2nd transmission switch). I was in bumper to bumper traffic and I didn't even notice a problem with the car until I looked at the dash which had check engine and flashing D. Once I got out of the traffic I noticed I was locked out of 4th and 5th gears. When I got home I took the switch out and put it in a solvent and then back on the car. For about a week I didnt have any issues or codes. Then I got those 2 codes accompanied by a grinding/ hiccuping from first to second gear. Apparently those switches are not covered under hondas powertrain warranty (lol) and from the dealer each one was 7 times the value as you could get online. So I had gotten the part numbers for the switches and the solenoid and changed them out. I also did a tranny fluid change and the oil was very dark, I also did the maintanance on the transmission fluid this time last year so it was a little shocking to see such dark fluid. The job wasnt too hard the switches are all pretty easy to access and all you have to do is take out the air box and battery to get to them. The 3rd clutch switch is on the back right part of the transmisson. I’m not a mechanic so I dont know if it was the switches causing the problem or the solenoid. Were you able to fix it by changing out that switch?

Hi sorry I've been on vacation the past few weeks. The switches are the same and they are (28600-RG5-004), solenoid B (28260-RG5-004). There's also a gasket for the solenoid (28262-RPC-000). I also changed the AT fluid and it was very dark for only a year. It was brown-pinkish I don't have a picture, but I thought that was odd because when I changed it the year prior it was more pink than this time (and that was the OEM stock fluid). Were you able to fix it? Also what was your mileage when this happened? I haven't had any issues thus far.
