On the way home I noticed I could hear a clicking noise that I hadn't noticed before. Got home, came back to the car and noticed I had a really hard start. The ticking noise almost sounded like a small exhaust leak. Pull out the driveway a bit of a stutter and headed back to work. On my way to work, I had the car misfire really bad loosing power. I had noticed a strong exhaust and/or fuel smell. Then I lost all acceleration. Both the traction control light and engine light came on. I shut the car off and turned it back on. Bad shutter and now no power when accelerating. I can barely go above 20 mph and hills are a no go.

I borrowed an OBDII scanner and checked and I'm showing misfire in cylinder 2 code P0302 confirmed misfire.

If I reset the code and the car is still running bad then move on to the next things to check or time to take to the shop?

Going to take it to the dealer to have them take a look.

Spark plugs coming loose are a known problem with the Fit. I would check the plugs first before moving onto anything else.

Smells like a loose spark plug. Exact way mine (#2 and #3) occurred but gradually. My VSA light (vehicle stability assist) came on too ('11 Sport AT)

To add on to the above...do not drive the vehicle before you check the spark plugs. Not even to get it to a shop. If it hasn't already, it will eventually eject a spark plug and may take the threads with it. At that point, you are in for a costly repair.

Thanks for the info! I will check the spark plugs and see how they are looking. GAFIT good point on not driving anymore before checking them, I was wondering this!
