Advices on Header fit ge8

Hi guys, I just want an advice how to change the header for fit ge8. What do I need to remove before I can access to the header and what size of the socket do I need for it. Any advices would be greatly appreciated. Thanks all😀

Does your GE have an L15? If so, it does not have a header. The cylinder head incorporates what would be a header and it only has a downpipe.

The downpipe was very easy to remove on my friends. Just have to remove the bolts for the heat shield to access the downpipe bolts, unplug the O2 sensor and then remove.

^That.

The only power you're really gaining from a downpipe is from removing the catalytic converter.

Which is......illegal.

Yeah, and even the power gain from removing the cat is minimal unless you're feeding a lot of boost into the engine and need a ton more flow. Then you can still get the flow needed by using a larger/higher flowing cat.

Modern catalytic converters are darn good. Very different from the '70's-'90's where removing a cat automatically netted 10hp. Today the gain is negligible and not worth it.
