DIY Aspec Header

This was my experience installing the header and a guide to the FitFreaks Community.

First remove the heat shield which is held on my 3 10mm bolts

Next i found it better to remove the bottom of the header first. As u can see one of the bolts bent on me since i took the top off first.
Remove the bottom bolts which are 2 12mm with springs. Next on the left of the header there is a bracket supporting the header remove that too 12mm

Then from the top of the remove the o2 sensor. From the pic you hav to remove the right side of the clip first. (push down on top of clip and pull towards driverside) Next you have to remove the clip from the bracket(Push up form the bottom of clip and pull towards passenger side)

After that remove the header from the top. Which is held on my 2 14mm nuts on the top portion and 3 14mm bolts on the bottom portion. After squeeze the header out through the top of the engine bay.

Then remove the donut seal and place it on the new header with the wider end going in first.

Remove the o2 senor and place it on the new header

Now install everything back in reverse order and it should look like this

The Aspec header is a quality product and it was an easy install. The performance can be felt at mid range to redline. i also can feel it when i tap on the gas, the car doesnt blog out as much. I really feel the difference on the freeway. I was going 60 and i guned it and next thing u kno i was at 80 i was surprised at the acceleration the header made. Overall the header is a great product and i recommend it to everyone.

Nice write up!

Probably too early to tell, but do you notice a change in fuel economy?

i imagine those bolts are on their really tight and given the amount of space to work with does it take alot of struggling to get them lose and off? will a spray of WD40 and 10 minute wait help?
