Thumbs up VG Shark Fin Antenna Installed!!

I installed my VG Shark Fin Antenna today!!

I'm extremely pleased. The paint matches real well. I'm very surprised and pleased with the reception. The two stations I listen to, when not playing CDs, come in better with the Fin! I always had an issue with one station dropping out. This is no longer the case. Very cool and pleasantly surprised in regards to reception!!

The install is straightforward and easy. You pretty much have one shot to seat the VG Fin in place (the adhesive is extremely sticky). It's very important to mark the area where you're going to install the Shark Fin. You want to prep the area real well. I used dawn dish washing liquid (to remove any wax) and alcohol to prep the area for install. Make sure the barrel of the antenna wire is facing down when you screw it in. Don't over-tighten the screw.

I prefer the VG Shark Fin over the black OEM whip antenna. I think the VG fin slopes nicely with the Fit and the paint matches the vehicle. I waited just under 4 weeks for the VG Fin, but it was well worth the wait. VG kept me up to date, as they were having an issue with my color. I could be the first OBM Fit with the VG Shark Fin. Visual Garage was very professional and awesome throughout the entire process. I can't say enough about their service!

I took plenty of pics from different angles (Excuse car. Dirty and plenty of pollen here now ). If you're considering a Visual Garage Shark Fin Antenna, I hope this information helps you!

NICE! Matches well.

I hardly listen to the radio so the current antenna suits me fine but darn that looks good. Do they use Honda OEM paint for the Shark Fin?

Thanks buddy!

They use the OBM paint code. Not sure what brand of paint. The quality is excellent.

I don't use the radio in my car AT ALL. FM radio irritates me to no end. However, I much prefer the look of the shark fin to the OEM antenna. I will have to ponder on this now.

I drove into work today and no loss in reception on the two FM stations I listen to here in GA. If anything, the reception is much improved! One of the stations I had no issues with the OEM antenna, the other I did. That station is now clear, with no drop in reception. Before I would get some static and lose stereo. Reception sounds better on both stations.

I know VG website says reception will be better than a stubby in most cases. In my case, thus far, it's better than OEM.

Thanks for posting, the review and pictures were really helpful. I definitely want to get one of these for my car. It looks great, and will be especially useful once I have a roof rack on, and am putting kayaks up there!

Looks fantastic. I cannot get over how gorgeous Orangeburst Metallic looks.
We have a 2-3 great public radio stations, so I listen to radio quite a bit. This might be a nice addition.

Thanks Susan!

I'm really pleased with it. It looks like it belongs on the Fit and it's functional. No issues with FM reception this evening as well.

I too have one of the shark fin antenna installed on my Fit! I think they look alot better. I barely listen to radio and it's true that it does not make any difference to reception if anyone was wondering.

Cool!

This is what I'm finding with the reception. I prefer my CDs as well.
