2nd gen Fit reliability

We've got the minimum, a bit more actually, so there will be a full result for the 2009 in early February. Thanks, guys.
A larger sample size would of course be better. So if you haven't responded yet, please do so. And if you haven't signed up yet, I hope you'll consider doing so.

And now, the shocking result: the 2009 Fit has a repair rate virtually identical to those for the 2007 and 2008 Fit. All three years are among the most reliable car models in the survey. Some larger, more complicated Hondas and Acuras are average these days, but the Fit appears to be Honda doing what Honda does best.
A big thanks to everyone who has been helping. We'll have further updates in May, August, and November, so additional participants would certainly be helpful.
TrueDelta now has a separate results page for each model that includes the scores of competitors for easy comparisons. The one for the Honda Fit:

Also, I'm not looking for anyone here to buy a membership. The main point of the paid membership is to provide an incentive to participate. Memberships are free for those who sign up to participate in the survey. Without participation, we can't provide information.

In a little over a month we'll start previewing the next set of results to participants. Great participation by 2009 Fit owners.
In fact, among 2009s we only have more owners signed up for the Nissan Murano, and they had a head start. Maybe by next month the 2009 Fit will be #1?

Now 93 for the Fit, 90 for the GM Lambda crossovers, and 89 for the Murano.
Which will be the first 2009 with 100 owners signed up?

We've updated the results for the 2009 Fit to include owner experiences through the end of March. A big thank you to everyone who helped make this result possible.
With a repair frequency of 11 repairs per 100 cars per year, the 2009 has been much better than average. The repair frequency was virtually the same for the 2008.
These cars are of course young, and it remains to be seen how they'll fare as they age. With prompt quarterly updates, we'll track them closely. The more participants we have, the better the information we can provide.

Thanks, guys. 137 2009s now signed up--13 more and the Fit would be the best-represented 2009 in the entire survey. Updated results soon.

Michael,
I'm curious about that Real World Gas Mileage Information; are all of those postings of mileage based on the Fit's Mileage Indicator or based on actual mileage calculations derived from miles driven/gallons used? I signed up and filled out the information but I don't recall if there was a request to not use what the Fit's Mileage Indicator reads (since there is an approximate error of 10%).
By the way, for those of you who haven't gone in to truedelta and observed the results, there are forty '09 MT posts about mileage, coming up with an average mpg of 37.7, I believe. There are twice as many postings for the '09 MT than for the '09 Auto. C'mon Autos! I think there's alot more Auto Fits on the road than MTs (??) so get a move on, ya'll should have way more postings than for us MTs!!
As well, the MTs have approximately a 10% advantage in mileage over the Autos, based on these postings. I find this very interesting especially when considering Honda's mpg figures stating that the Auto gets better mileage than the MT!
I appreciate and enjoy that I can SEE and regulate my MT's mileage with a very light foot, lower than normal speeds including less aggression on the road than I used to drive with and shifting on flat surfaces at 2k rpm! I love watching the mileage indiator and bumping it up and up (right now it reads 50.1) as I go through my daily driving activity. I've gotten 44mpg, two tanks in a row based on manual calc, when the Mileage Indicator has read 48.3 upon fill-up. This is nearing three times the mileage that my clunker 4-Runner got!

People can submit results based on either a trip computer (is this what you mean by the mileage indicator?) or manual calculations--or both. We don't currently distinguish them when posting the results, though. The main limitation is that the amount of detail we already post tends to confuse people, and adding another field would further confuse them.
I do plan to make additional information available to those who want it--just a matter of finding the time.

The auto and manual sport models get the exact same mileage. Regardless, the EPA mileage calculation for the Fit is obviously wrong and the car should be re-tested.
