Installing springs HELP!

The front cv joint slipped out while the struts were out... and it won't seem to slide back in place like it's supposed to leaving the rotor and spindle at a bad angle not perpendicular to the ground. Any advice?

The same thing happened to me 2 days ago when I replaced the springs on my week old 2009 fit auto. This is how I fixed mine.

Step 1: don't panic
Step 2: block the rear wheels so the car doesn't role away
Step 3: turn the igniition to the start position
Step 4: put the transmission in to nuetral
Step 5: be careful and make sure u are using jack stands so u don't get hurt
Step 6: lift the brake up and sit on the ground on ur butt and rest it on both ur knees till it is at about the correst level to bolt it into place
Step 7: turn the brake rotor until u feel it semi lock into the transmission
Step 8: keep wiggling and shacking it and with in about 10-15 minutes of playing with it it should pop back into place.
Step 9: once u feel it pop into place scream with joy and quickly sslide either a screwdriver into the upper mounting bolt hole or have the bolt ready and slide it in
Step 10: put the bottom bolt in and behappy it worked out.

All it really takes is some shaking and it willpop in out of no where. Not a big deal.... it will just work after a few minutes of trying.

Thanks blink, didn't see this in time, but I appreciate the effort, and it probably would've worked BUT...

I ended up breaking the clamp (it was welded?!?!) and slipping back the boot to see the internals. There were three bearings that we were semi locking in but they weren't sliding back. There were notches that you had to perfectly line up with and having the bearings push outwards to the walls of the cv joint for them to slide in. Mind you I'm doing this in the dark with a maglite. Even with the boot off it took me a good 5 minutes to get it to slide in. Anyway, repacked it with some grease, put a new hose clamp on and voila good as new! Ended up only getting the fronts done today, but it's looking good, I'll post some pics when it's all finished. Good learning experience at the very least.
