I checked out your link Wild Bill, looks good.. Do you think it would stay in place at 100+ MPH in 100+F ambient temps?

Most definitely. I think they mention a permanent install. A few screws with washers would do that.

It looks good... I wish that type of thing on my car but when I think about how often the front lip scrapes it's obvious that it wouldn't last long... I would go back to stock springs if I didn't like the ride and handling from using the Swift springs as much as I do...

actually, you would be surprised how well these hold up. i have slammed, and i mean SLAMMED the front of my car into pavement/gravel at night on a deceivingly steep entrance... and no damage. stuff is pretty flexible and resilient.

I second that, very resilient indeed, and if you want it to be a little stronger throw some colored duct tape on the front, whether you want to keep the black look or something more unique like I have it still helps out because its like a little extra reinforcement for the front where you may hit crap all the time.

My front bumper is frequently pulled loose from where it attaches to the fender due to the lip scraping on the ground.... I plan to have some paint and body work done in the future and would like to put a Mugen style front lip mounted a few inches higher than the stock one... From what you guys are saying I believe I could add some of that material to the bottom of the higher mounted lip and maintain or improve the look it now has.... I wish I had been able to find a base model Fit instead of the sport... The plastic cladding on these things are just styling gimmickry that has no positive effect on fuel mileage or performance. To tell the truth I think the stuff is a pain in the ass..

It really IS a pain in the ass, i know you have a gd but even for the ge i had to use some 2x8's just to freakin get my car up on the ramps i have for an oil change. I don't understand why any car company making a compact (NON SPORTCAR) car would make a front end incapable of driving up normal standard style ramps....makes no sense to me. almost makes me want the base model front end. but i dont even know if that would have the same problem. ughhh

it's kinda hard to really get a good picture of the lip since it's so subtle and it's backed by the car's shadow...but you can see it more or less.

i'm happy with it. super easy to install...and if you mess up...no big deal, just take it off and try again! lol (luckily i didn't have to do that)

oh, one suggestion i suppose...take his advice and use a jack when trying to punch the screws in. it would have probably made the job a lot easier. also be careful with the twisting/wrapping of the rubber around the screw as you're wrenching it in.

Looks really nice! probably helps not having those flare outs on the sport bumper to line it up good. Nice job man!

buying the ez-lip will only save you two steps. buying the tape and putting it on the lip.
