I'll never understand this mod, looks ugly in my opinion and just blocks more of your vision.

I like the ugly part, but I don't know how much of my view will be blocked. Still contemplating whether to do this or not.

It will not block your vision. I guess for a split moment the wiper might block your vision of a car two miles behind you, but it really isn't thick enough to create a blind spot or even a distraction in the rear view. Quit contemplating and just do it, it's an easy reverse!

I finally got around doing this. I had trouble popping off the wiper arm (2011) and I didnt have a puller on hand. So I just turned the entire unit and screwed it back on. It works nicely!

Just got mine done, that was amazingly easy. The back panel was a pain in the ass to get off, but the rest went pretty well....

just did mine, so simple, back panel was easier than i thought since i'm so used to Civics stuff being hard to remove. Thanks for this DIY!!

my wiper is stuck. i wanna take mine off so i can just plug the hole for a cleaner look. any ideas on how to pull it off? i'm scared to use a puller because i'm not sure if the wiper will break or not.

^ It won't, mine got stuck when I was trying to put my new garnish on. Get a pair of pliers and clamp it between the bottom of the wiper and the top of the screw, it'll pop off.

thanks for the guide. i did to my ge8 and gd1 within 30 minutes and broke one socket at the inner hatch on my ge8...and now, my rear wiper does not collect dust anymore. happy for it!

did this last week. awesome. i wish i thought about the physics of it all before winter lol.

the only trouble i ran into was the joint that connects the wiper and gear together feel out without me knowing which way the joint goes in so i had a little trial and error. but that was mainly because i didnt see it before it fell out lol.

I put back my wiper blade vertically. When I started up my car to turn the rear wiper it stalled and now is overheated. Am I supposed to put the wiper blade back on horizontally (stock)? I'm currently wait for it to cool down and probably fix the issue when it cools down tomorrow.

Mod done! Getting the wiper arm back on was a pain... I got it on as best as I could and then used the nut to cinch it down the rest of the way. Anyone else have the same issue?

I just TRIED to do this mod, i thought everything was good and returned some tools back to orileys and on my way the wiper feel down to its original position... great! I got it to stay after I took of the wiper itself and angled it the way I wanted.

10mm bolts don;t like me, I even used some WD-40 to make it easier to take them out but I had no luck.
