cranking in the morning ?

i feel it takes longer / more cranks to start the engine when cold ?

anyone have some idea of why ?

That is because your battery is going bad, how old is the battery. Maybe you should get a battery with more cold cranking amps

Its because its a modern high efficiency engine. It minimizes wasted fuel during startup by not dumping tons in, like normal cars do. It bugs me too, but my lexus would spray fuel out the exhaust when cold started, even new! (also EFI, but vintage 1992)

In in the same boat. Heard theories from different seasonal blend of fuel to bad sparks or like the above stated, bad battery. I just learned to deal with since it only happens when I haven't driven it in a few days.

I'd say it's because the engine is cold, and it takes a tiny bit longer to start up when it's cold. If it's really, really cold, it takes even longer to start up.

Because colder fuel takes longer to atomize making it harder to ignite in the combustion chamber.
