Bleeding Brakes

I have a 2009 Fit Sport with manual transmission.

I bled my brakes over the weekend and only used about 1.5 bottles of Honda DOT3 brake fluid. The bottles were 12oz in size. I was told by the Honda parts guy I would need at least 3 bottles to bleed the system but perhaps he just wanted to sell me more brake fluid. I also bled out the master cylinder and the clutch / slave cylinder as well.

My question is, did I fully bleed the system if I only used about 18oz of brake fluid?

The brakes are fine after the flush and the brake pedal does feel a bit less hard compared to before.

You may have a bit of air left in the system. The brale pedal should feel very hard with the car running.

Did you bleed until the exiting fluid became noticeably lighter in color? If so, you 'aced' it.

I usually use two bottles of Honda brake fluid to replace. The clutch system requires about 3/4 bottle.
