Unhappy 09 Fit Trunk Latch Issue

So I just found out today that my trunk lock does not even work. I looking at the mechanism on the inside of the cargo bay and it looks like all the parts move, but the actual latch itself which remains in the unlocked position. Any help is appreciate!

I have the same issue, I have to manually push the latch to the closed position before closing my trunk each time. I believe there is a diy post on here about cleaning/ lubercating the mechanism to restore it to normal operation. I will pull mine apart this spring to investigate.

Yeah the problem for is that I cannot keep the latch in the locked position. I guess something is broken on the inside since I do hear something rattling around in the back compartment. I am just trying to find a guide on how to replace/repair the mechanism myself or how to keep my latch locked so I don't worry about theft...
