Just finished installing a Pioneer Avic F700BT Headunit along with the steering wheel audio controls to my 2009 MT Fit Sport. I used a Metra trim kit which looks pretty close to the OEM plastic. A PAC WSI-PS was used to interface the steering buttons and headunit. The GPS antenna is located inside the top of the dash. The plastic has no effect on the GPS signal. Everything is working great so far . Here are some pics.

Did you add the steering controls as well? Or did you remove the OE GPS?

 

I added the steering controls (no OE navi). Its pretty easy and just involves replacing the buttons and adding a couple of extra wires between the steering cable reel and radio.

Does this replacement eliminate the need for a constant map CD update? Does is come with bluetooth, USB, and back up camera?

 

Going to install the exact same unit just minus the Nav. Now the question. Can I install steering wheel controls to my base steering wheel that didn't come with them?
